Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has criticized the Canadian High Commission for denying a visa to Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, calling it disrespectful to the country.

Speaking on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily on Friday, Tunji-Ojo questioned Canada’s decision, warning that if such treatment could be meted out to the CDS, ordinary Nigerians may face worse.

He also called for a review of Nigeria’s visa reciprocity policies.

The controversy follows Musa’s revelation that he and other military officers were denied visas for an official visit.

National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, had earlier condemned Canada’s action, stating the country could “go to hell.”
