MTN Nigeria has publicly apologized to customers following backlash over a sudden 200% increase in its 15GB data plan.
In a statement on Instagram, the telecom giant admitted to miscalculating the price adjustment, describing it as a “mistake.”
Appealing for forgiveness, MTN urged subscribers not to remain angry, especially during the Valentine’s season.
The tariff hike, which raised the 15GB plan from ₦2,000 to ₦6,000, has sparked calls for boycotts and scrutiny of telecom pricing regulations.
