The Abuja Transport and Aviation Correspondents Association (ATACA), has elected new executives to lead the association from 2025 to 2027.
In a keenly contested election on February 12, 2025, Ejike Ejike emerged as chairman after defeating Jude Idu by 18 to 7 votes.
Francisca Ogar was elected vice chairman, also securing an 18 to 7 victory over Gabriel Agbeja.
Other elected officers include Tyavzua Saanyol as general secretary, Nnaemeka Ihenacho as assistant secretary, and Adeola Akinbobola as treasurer.
Joke Falaju, Chidi Ugwu, and Kasim Sumaina retained their positions as financial secretary, welfare secretary, and public relations officer, respectively.
In his acceptance speech, Ejike pledged to harness members’ potential to strengthen ATACA and improve welfare, equity, and justice within the association.
Outgoing chairman Oru Leonard urged members to remain united and uphold professional journalism in the aviation, marine, and transportation sectors.
