Elder statesman and Afenifere chieftain, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, has passed away at 96.
He died peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2025, at his Lekki residence in Lagos.
A distinguished lawyer and nationalist, Adebanjo was a staunch advocate of true federalism and a key figure in Nigeria’s political history.
His family, in a statement, described his life as one dedicated to justice, equity, and national progress.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later, while condolence registers have been opened at his Lagos and Ogun State residences.
