The Lagos State Government has announced an eight-hour road closure and traffic diversion for the 2025 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon on Saturday, February 15.

Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, stated that the marathon will run from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., affecting major routes from the National Stadium, Surulere, to Eko Atlantic, Victoria Island.

Key roads, including Ikorodu Road, the Third Mainland Bridge (inbound Island), Alfred Rewane Road, Admiralty Way, and Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue, will be temporarily closed.

Traffic management agencies will be deployed to enforce restrictions and guide motorists on alternative routes.

While the Third Mainland Bridge will be closed to Island-bound traffic, it will remain open for those heading to the Mainland.

Osiyemi urged motorists to plan ahead and use designated alternative routes to minimize disruptions.
