The Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Saleh Usman, has dismissed claims that he canceled contracts with Saudi Arabia’s Muaashir Companies, assuring that preparations for the 2025 Hajj remain on track.

The Forum of States Pilgrim Welfare Agencies had alleged that Usman’s actions could jeopardize Nigerian pilgrims’ visa approvals.

However, Usman clarified that the contract cancellations were initiated by the Saudi government, not NAHCON.

He explained that Saudi authorities repeatedly approved and revoked agreements with Mashariq Al-Dhahabiah, prompting him to travel to Saudi Arabia to resolve the matter.

He reassured stakeholders that all preparations are in line with legal and ethical standards, emphasizing that no pilgrim would be affected by administrative challenges.

Despite ongoing criticism, Usman maintained that NAHCON is committed to delivering a seamless Hajj experience in 2025.
