The Federal Government has extended the civil servants’ identity verification deadline to February 17, 2025, to curb ghost workers on the payroll.
A memo from the Accountant-General’s Office directed employees to verify their details on the IPPIS portal, including their Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), IPPIS number, and salary account details.
Failure to comply may result in payroll suspension and other penalties.
MDAs’ Accounting Officers and Finance Directors have been urged to enforce compliance.
This follows President Bola Tinubu’s 2024 directive mandating civil servants abroad who continued receiving salaries to refund the payments, with their supervisors facing disciplinary action.
