The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has launched a major crackdown on illegal miners in Bauchi State.
The operation, aimed at curbing illegal mining activities, saw the destruction of mining equipment and the arrest of several suspects engaged in unauthorized mining operations.
The NSCDC officials emphasized that illegal mining not only violates federal regulations but also poses environmental hazards and contributes to the loss of government revenue.
This crackdown underscores the NSCDC’s commitment to addressing the growing menace of illegal mining in the state and safeguarding the country’s mineral resources.
