Hajiya Fatima Bago, wife of Niger State Governor, has launched a groundbreaking free medical outreach in Edati Local Government Area, aimed at improving healthcare access for underserved communities.
The three-day event, a collaboration with Graceland Healthcare Development Foundation, will provide essential health services including surgeries, 1,000 pairs of reading glasses, medical consultations, and free medications.
The initiative targets critical health conditions such as hernia, appendicitis, and fibroids, alongside essential screenings for hypertension, diabetes, and malaria.
Over 1,000 residents are expected to benefit from the outreach, which also focuses on women and children’s health.
In her remarks, Hajiya Fatima emphasized the importance of charity and compassion, urging others to use their resources to uplift their communities.
She commended the efforts of her husband, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago, for his commitment to transforming the state’s healthcare system.
The outreach is a significant step toward expanding access to healthcare in Niger.
