The federal government has handed over six Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), buses to the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), to improve student transportation across the six geopolitical zones.

Speaking at the handover ceremony on Friday, Special Adviser to the President on Students’ Engagement, Comrade Asefon Sunday Dayo, said the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to supporting students. He noted that the buses would significantly reduce transportation costs, ensuring affordability and convenience.

Asefon assured that maintenance would be closely monitored, with schools responsible for the upkeep of buses stationed on their campuses.

NANS President, Comrade Lucky Emonefe, praised the initiative as a historic first for NANS, emphasizing that over 20 buses have been distributed nationwide through constructive dialogue rather than protests.

He lauded President Tinubu for the gesture, stating that it would ease student transportation costs.
