Former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman has advised Israel Adesanya to step back from title contention and focus on enjoying his career after his third consecutive loss at UFC Fight Night 250 in Saudi Arabia.

Speaking on his Pound 4 Pound podcast with Henry Cejudo, Usman suggested Adesanya take on entertaining matchups rather than rush back into championship fights, following the path of MMA legend Anderson Silva.

Adesanya, now ranked fourth in the UFC middleweight division, suffered a second-round TKO loss to Nassourdine Imavov, marking his fourth defeat in five fights.

Usman believes a break would help him reset and return strategically later in the year.

In response, Adesanya shared a message of resilience on social media, writing, “Rolled the dice…snake eyes. I’ll be back, gone to get some milk.”

His latest setback may prompt a shift in strategy as he reassesses his next move in the competitive middleweight division.
