The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), has arraigned Takat Williams Sabo, an official of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, for alleged job racketeering.
He is accused of accepting an ₦800,000 bribe in exchange for a government job offer, highlighting concerns over corruption in public sector recruitment.
Appearing before Justice S. M. Mayana at the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Apo, Abuja, Sabo pleaded not guilty to charges filed under Sections 18 and 19 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000.
The court granted him bail at ₦20 million, with two sureties required.
The trial is set to begin on April 10, 2025, as the ICPC continues its crackdown on public sector corruption, urging anyone with further information to come forward.
