The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has approved N36.5 billion for major infrastructure projects in Abuja and its satellite towns.

Abdulkadir Zulkiflu, coordinator of the FCTA’s Satellite Towns Development Department, disclosed this after the first FCT executive committee meeting of 2025.

A significant portion of the funds will go towards the construction of multi-event sports centres aimed at enhancing sports development in the FCT.

The administration has also earmarked funds for the construction of magistrate courts in Asokoro and Garki to improve access to justice.

Additionally, investments will be made in power supply and streetlight installations to enhance security and quality of life in satellite towns.

Contracts have already been awarded to reputable firms, including Earthgain Energy and Environmental Services Ltd and Tegwa-Tegwa Nigeria Ltd, which will handle the construction of the multi-event sports complex in Abuja.

The projects, expected to be completed within 12 to 18 months, are set to improve essential services and infrastructure across the FCT.
