FCTA Approves Key Infrastructure, Security Projects

The Federal Capital Territory Executive Committee (EXCO), has approved several critical infrastructure and security projects during its inaugural meeting of the year, chaired by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

The Coordinator of the Satellite Towns Development Department, Hon. Abdulkadir Zulkiflu, announced the approval of a ₦3.065 billion contract for the construction of a 33KVA power supply line from Dawaki to Bwari and a solar street lighting system in Kubwa.

The six-month project, awarded to Messrs CGC Nigeria Limited, aims to enhance security in satellite towns.

The EXCO also approved the construction of multi-event sports centers in Abuja, with Lot 1 awarded to Messrs Earthgain Energy and Environmental Services Ltd and Lot 2 to Tegwa-Tegwa Nigeria Limited, both with a 12-month completion timeline.

Additionally, two magistrate courts will be built in Asokoro and Garki at ₦7.6 billion and ₦6.3 billion, respectively, with completion timelines of 15 and 18 months.

To strengthen security, the FCTA approved the construction of three police divisional headquarters and staff quarters in Kuje, Gwagwalada, and Kwali.

These projects align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to enhance service delivery and security in the FCT.
