The decomposed body of Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, has been discovered on the Second Niger Bridge, weeks after his abduction.
Azuka, who represented Onitsha North Constituency 1, was kidnapped on December 24, 2024, while traveling along Ugwunabankpa Road, Onitsha.
His murder marks the second killing of a sitting lawmaker in Anambra in recent years.
Security operatives from Abuja arrested several suspects linked to the case on Wednesday.
The suspects later led authorities to the site where Azuka’s body was dumped.
Anambra police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed ongoing investigations, assuring that more details would be released.
Azuka’s death mirrors the 2022 murder of Okey Okoye, another Anambra lawmaker, whose beheaded body was found near Nnobi.
The incident has heightened concerns over security and governance in the state.
