The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has ordered an immediate investigation into alleged criminal activities at the Okere Correctional Centre in Warri, Delta State.
Reacting to media reports of misconduct within the facility, Tunji-Ojo warned that any officer found culpable would face strict disciplinary action.
“I will not allow indiscipline to fester under my nose. Any officer found wanting will face the full weight of the law.
“The leadership of the Nigerian Correctional Service must provide explanations,” he stated.
The minister reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and accountability in the correctional system and urged the public to provide any relevant information to aid the investigation.
