President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Retired Major General Abdulmalik Jibril as the new Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).
A seasoned security strategist, Jibril brings extensive experience from his military and security service background.
He succeeds Alhaji Ja’afaru Ahmed, who implemented key reforms, including the Board Secretariat’s independence in staff recruitment.
Jibril has pledged to build on these reforms, with staff representatives assuring their support for a smooth transition.
His appointment underscores Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s internal security institutions.
