The Ogun State Government, led by Governor Dapo Abiodun, has suspended Oba Abdulsemiu Adewale Ogunjobi, the Olorile of Orile-Ifo, for six months over allegations of public misconduct deemed unbefitting of a traditional ruler.
The suspension followed an investigation by the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, during which both the monarch and his alleged victim were invited for questioning by the Commissioner.
According to the government, the action was necessary to uphold the dignity and sanctity of the traditional institution.
Oba Ogunjobi’s alleged reckless behavior, widely circulated on social media, sparked public criticism and led to the inquiry.
Pending further investigations, the monarch has been suspended and stripped of all paraphernalia of his office.
The state government reaffirmed its commitment to preserving the integrity of the traditional institution and ensuring accountability among its leaders.
