The Federal Government will commence toll collection on the 227.2km Abuja-Keffi-Akwanga-Makurdi Expressway, with the official launch set for Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, will officiate the flag-off at the Garaku Toll Station (KM 32 on the Keffi-Akwanga section).
The tolling initiative is part of the Highways Development and Management Initiative (HDMI) Phase II under the Value Added Concession (VAC), scheme.
The expressway will have four toll stations, raising concerns among road users and transporters about potential increases in transportation costs.
The Federal Ministry of Works has invited the public to follow the event live on its official X handle (@FMWNIG), as well as on NTA and Arise TV, at 11:00 AM.
