Teachers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), have staged a protest, calling on FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to intervene against alleged attempts by unidentified individuals to seize their lands in Idu District and Pyakasa community, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

The teachers, under the aegis of the National Union of Teachers (NUT), AMAC branch, protested in Idu District on Saturday, expressing frustration over what they described as a coordinated effort to dispossess them of their legally acquired plots.

Some teachers revealed that while they had begun developing their properties, portions of their land had already been encroached upon by land grabbers.

Among the protesters were retired teachers, who vowed to continue their demonstrations until the authorities take decisive action to protect their properties.
