Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani has expressed confidence in the Nigerian Armed Forces’ ability to defeat ISWAP, Boko Haram, bandits, and the recently proscribed Lakurawa terrorist group.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Sani acknowledged the immense pressure on the military, noting that no other army in Africa is engaged on multiple battlefronts.

“The Nigerian Armed Forces are fighting ISWAP and Boko Haram in the North East, and bandits and Lakurawa in the North West.

“No Army in Africa is engaged and stretched to this level. We appreciate their patriotism and sacrifices to secure our country. We shall overcome,” he wrote.

His statement follows a strong declaration by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, who warned that any Lakurawa terrorist encountered by Nigerian troops is “as good as dead.”

This comes after a Federal High Court ruling in Abuja, delivered by Justice James Omotosho, officially designated Lakurawa as a terrorist organization, granting the military full legal backing to act decisively.
