The Police have arrested two men, Aliyu Ibrahim, 20, and Shamsudeen Aliyu, 18, for allegedly selling hard drugs at Karu abattoir in Abuja.

Prosecutor Olarewaju Osho told the Karu Magistrates’ Court on Friday that a police team led by DSP Ayeni Ohimai raided the area, known as a criminal hideout, and found the suspects in possession of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

Osho added that the defendants had previously been warned to stop selling and using hard drugs, which pose a health hazard.

Their actions violate Sections 199 and 155 of the Penal Code.

The defendants pleaded not guilty. Magistrate Lami Sani granted them bail at N200,000 each with one surety and adjourned the case to March 18 for hearing.
