The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has decried the recent vandalism attempt on its infrastructure, specifically targeting Tower T195 along the Ugwuaji–Makurdi 330kV transmission line in Watuolo village, Ado LGA, Benue State.
According to TCN’s General Manager for Public Affairs, Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, the incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Saturday but was thwarted by vigilant community members who noticed suspicious activity near the tower. Their swift intervention led to the arrest of one suspect, while others escaped. The apprehended individual was handed over to law enforcement for further investigation.
Mbah commended the residents for their proactive response and urged other host communities to remain vigilant in protecting critical infrastructure. She reaffirmed TCN’s commitment to working with security agencies and local stakeholders to curb vandalism and safeguard the nation’s power transmission network.
