The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has given states and employers until the end of March to implement the new national minimum wage, warning of strict measures against defaulters.

Mohammed Ibrahim, President of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), and NLC’s National Internal Auditor, raised concerns over delays and manipulative wage adjustments by some institutions.

He assured that the NLC is committed to enforcing compliance and urged improved university funding and staff training.

Ibrahim also stressed the need for alternative negotiation strategies, acknowledging the declining impact of strike actions.
