The Nigerian government is preparing to receive any Nigerians deported from the United States, says the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM).
Abdur-Rahman Balogun, NiDCOM’s Director of Media and Corporate Affairs, confirmed that an inter-agency committee, led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been formed to manage the process.
Though reports suggest around 3,690 Nigerians could be deported due to stricter US immigration policies, NiDCOM has yet to receive official confirmation.
The US has begun deporting migrants, with African nations, including Nigeria, likely to be impacted.
