A two-storey building under construction at Mega Mall Estate, Mobile Road, Inikpa Ajah, Lagos, collapsed at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, leaving at least two people dead and several others injured.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), confirmed the recovery of an adult and a teenage boy’s bodies, while five others were rescued alive.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), also reported that four adult males sustained serious injuries and were taken to the hospital.
Rescue teams, including LASEMA and other emergency responders, have deployed heavy-duty equipment to clear the rubble and search for any remaining trapped victims.
The cause of the collapse remains unknown, with investigations ongoing.
