The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has forecast a three-day period of hazy and cloudy weather across Nigeria from Monday to Wednesday.
For Monday, moderate dust haze is expected in northern cities, with visibility ranging between 2 to 5 kilometers, and as low as 1 kilometer in some areas like Jigawa, Katsina, Kano, and Sokoto.
The North Central region will also experience similar conditions, while parts of Niger State may see reduced visibility under 1 kilometer.
Southern regions will begin with hazy skies and patches of clouds, followed by potential thunderstorms in states such as Ondo, Edo, Ogun, Lagos, and Akwa Ibom.
Tuesday’s forecast mirrors Monday’s, with moderate dust haze across northern and North Central regions, while southern inland states will experience hazy skies with occasional clouds.
NiMet has warned of possible strong winds before thunderstorms and advised individuals, especially those with respiratory conditions, to take precautions.
Airline operators are urged to consult NiMet for specific weather reports.
