Former Belgian international Radja Nainggolan was arrested on January 27, 2025, as part of a major cocaine trafficking investigation tied to the port of Antwerp.

The Brussels prosecutor’s office confirmed his involvement following coordinated raids across Belgium.

The investigation centers on cocaine importation from South America through Antwerp and its distribution across Belgium.

Nainggolan, 36, recently returned from retirement to join Lokeren after a brief period without a club.

His career has included stints at top Italian clubs such as Cagliari, Inter Milan, and Roma.

Nainggolan’s arrest adds to his controversial reputation, following past incidents like his suspension for smoking an e-cigarette on the bench during his time at Royal Antwerp.
