Nigerian rapper Speed Darlington narrowly escaped an assassination attempt on January 27, 2025, shortly after his release from Kuje prison.
The attack occurred as Darlington was leaving a club in Lagos’ Victoria Island area, where gunmen fired multiple shots at his vehicle, causing significant damage.
In an Instagram video, Darlington expressed his shock and fear, accusing an unnamed individual of orchestrating the attack.
Despite the danger, the rapper’s supporters flooded social media with messages of concern, calling for his safety.
The incident, following his recent bail, underscores the risks public figures face in Nigeria.
