Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has lauded the strong diplomatic ties and shared characteristics between Nigeria and India.
In a statement marking India’s Republic Day, Tuggar congratulated India’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, highlighting the countries’ shared attributes, including their multi-religious, multi-lingual, and multi-ethnic societies.
“Since establishing diplomatic relations decades ago, Nigeria and India have maintained strong ties and strategic partnerships, collaborating on initiatives to enhance political and economic prosperity,” Tuggar said in a statement issued by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, Acting Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He commended the ongoing efforts to deepen bilateral relations and expressed Nigeria’s continued support for India, wishing the Indian government and its people peace, progress, and prosperity.
Tuggar emphasized that the shared values and partnerships between the two nations form a solid foundation for mutual growth and global collaboration.
