NiMet Forecasts Sunny, Hazy Weather Nationwide

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has projected sunny and hazy weather across the country from Wednesday to Friday, with variations in different regions.

For the northern region, sunny skies in a hazy atmosphere will dominate throughout the forecast period.

The North Central and southern inland areas will see hazy skies with occasional cloud patches, with afternoon or evening thunderstorms expected over Osun, Ondo, Edo, and Ogun.

The southern coastal region will experience cloudy skies with sunshine and morning thunderstorms in Lagos, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River.

Thunderstorms are also predicted later in the day over Delta, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, and Bayelsa.

On Thursday, a slight dust haze is forecast for the northern region, while the North Central and southern inland areas will remain hazy with occasional clouds.

Thunderstorms may occur in Ogun, Ondo, Ekiti, Edo, and Osun by afternoon or evening.

By Friday, moderate dust haze with visibility of 2–5 kilometers is expected in the northern region, while the North Central will experience slight dust haze.

The southern inland areas will remain hazy with cloud patches, while the coastal region will see cloudy skies with thunderstorms likely over Rivers, Delta, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, and Bayelsa later in the day.

NiMet advises the public to use the forecast to plan activities and reduce the impact of unfavorable weather conditions.
