To ease the cost of transportation for Nigerians, the Presidential initiative on Compressed Natural Gas (PiCNG), has launched eco-friendly buses in Abuja, offering commuters a 30% discount on all rides.

The buses, which run on clean CNG fuel, provide a cost-effective and comfortable alternative for residents traveling across the Federal Capital Territory.

Key routes currently serviced include Berger, Gwagwalada, Federal Secretariat, Nyanya, Zuba, and Area 1. To enjoy this benefit, Nigerians living in Abuja are advised to get the PiCNG Cowry card.

This initiative, launched in collaboration with transport unions (NARTO, NURTW & RTEAN), aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on promoting green energy solutions while addressing economic challenges faced by citizens.

Passengers have lauded the initiative for its affordability and convenience, with fares now significantly reduced. For instance, a journey from Zuba to the Federal Secretariat, previously costing higher, now stands at just ₦400.

The buses boast luxuriously free, comfortable seating and cater to diverse transportation needs. Commuters also find it a relief to save on vehicle maintenance costs while contributing to environmental sustainability.

With PiCNG’s discounted rides gaining traction, Abuja residents are encouraged to leverage the opportunity to reduce transportation expenses while supporting green energy initiatives.
