Nigerian Governors’ Forum Mourns Victims of Tanker Explosion

The Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF), has expressed deep sorrow over the devastating tanker explosion at Dikko Junction along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway in Niger State, which claimed over 50 lives and left many injured.

In a statement by its Chairman, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, the forum conveyed condolences to the government and people of Niger State, as well as the victims’ families, while wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

The NGF called for stricter enforcement of safety regulations on the transportation and handling of combustible materials to prevent future tragedies.

Governor AbdulRazaq described the incident as a stark reminder of the need to strengthen regulatory frameworks.

The forum also commended the swift response of emergency services and first responders in managing the aftermath of the disaster.

Governor AbdulRazaq urged citizens to prioritize safety and prayed for the repose of the victims’ souls and strength for their grieving families.
