A fire outbreak has gutted Focus Holiday Inn, a popular hotel in the Garki area of Abuja, sending guests and staff into panic.
According to a hotel staff member, the alarm was raised by a guest who rushed to the reception, reportedly unclad, to alert workers.
The fire, which started in one section of the three-storey building, spread rapidly to other areas.
Despite multiple distress calls, fire service responders were reportedly delayed. However, as of the time of this report, firefighters were on-site battling the blaze.
Established in 2022, Focus Holiday Inn is known for its upscale and luxurious offerings in Nigeria’s capital.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and no casualties have been reported.
Efforts to reach hotel representatives, the fire service, and the police for comments were unsuccessful.
