The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has extended the registration deadline for the 2025 Hajj to January 30, 2025, in line with adjustments to the Hajj calendar by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
In a statement on Monday, the Board’s spokesperson, Mohammed Aliyu, explained that the extension aligns with NAHCON’s directive for all state Pilgrims Welfare Boards and Agencies to remit collections by February 1, 2025.
He disclosed that over 40% of the FCT’s allocation for the 2025 Hajj has already been taken since registration began in September 2024.
He urged intending pilgrims to register early, emphasizing the Board’s first-come, first-served policy.
Prospective pilgrims must deposit a minimum of N8.4 million via bank draft payable to the FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
Payments can be made at the Board’s headquarters in Abuja or at designated offices in the six area councils, pending NAHCON’s final announcement of the Hajj fare.
Intending pilgrims who previously made deposits but could not travel in past exercises must top up their payments to meet the new deposit requirement before the deadline.
Aliyu reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to excellent service delivery, urging residents to secure their slots before the January 30 deadline.
