Abuja Police Intensify Daily Raids on Criminal Hotspots

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Command has launched daily raids on identified criminal hotspots in Abuja to combat rising crime, protect infrastructure, and curb drug trafficking.
FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, stated that the operation aims to maintain law and order while tackling vandalism, drug abuse, and other criminal activities in the capital city.
So far, the raids have led to 348 arrests, with 320 suspects already facing prosecution.
Security operatives also seized 10 trucks loaded with vandalized metals, 26 stolen manhole covers, 20 solar streetlights, AEDC armored cables, assorted hard drugs, and 11 firearms.
This crackdown follows the recent arrest of suspected vandals involved in stealing Abuja’s manholes and streetlights.
The FCT Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding public infrastructure and ensuring the safety of residents through sustained operations.
