Afropop Artist, Akinmayokun Awodumila, known as Mr. May D, has opened up about his 2012 fallout with P-Square and their label, Square Records.
In a recent interview on the Honest Bunch podcast, May D explained that the conflict began when Akon offered him a significant opportunity during the production of Chop My Money.
May D revealed that Akon insisted on his presence at the video shoot, and later offered him multiple deals, asking him to reach out after returning to Nigeria.
When he shared the opportunity with P-Square, his honesty backfired.
“If I had known better, I wouldn’t have told them,” May D admitted, reflecting on the tension that led to his exit from Square Records.
