The All Progressives Congress (APC), has congratulated Senator John Azuta-Mbata on his election as the 13th President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization.
In a statement issued in Abuja, APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, also extended appreciation to the outgoing President-General, Chief Fidelis Chukwu, who completed the tenure of the late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, who passed away on July 25 at age 82.
Morka described Azuta-Mbata’s election as a significant milestone in Ohanaeze’s history, noting his distinguished public service, particularly as a two-term senator known for championing the welfare of his constituents and advocating for good governance.
“We are confident that Senator Azuta-Mbata will provide mature, purposeful, and patriotic leadership for Ohanaeze Ndigbo,” Morka stated.
He further assured the new leadership of APC’s willingness to explore areas of collaboration to promote national unity, peace, and development.
The APC wished Azuta-Mbata and his executive team a successful tenure in advancing the interests of the Igbo nation and Nigeria at large.
