The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has forecast hazy weather conditions across the country from Wednesday to Friday.

In its weather outlook released on Tuesday in Abuja, NiMet predicted moderate dust haze with horizontal visibility of 2km to 5km across the North and North Central regions.

The inland cities of the South will experience cloud patches in a hazy atmosphere, while coastal areas may see early morning mist or fog, followed by cloud patches and hazy conditions later in the day.

By Friday, slight dust haze is expected in the North, with localized visibility below 1km in parts of Zamfara, Katsina, Kano, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Kaduna states.

The North Central region will see slight dust haze with good visibility, while southern inland cities will continue to experience cloud patches in a hazy atmosphere.

NiMet advised the public to take precautions against dust particles, especially individuals with respiratory conditions like asthma.

It also urged airline operators to obtain airport-specific weather reports for safe flight planning.
