Nollywood star Funke Akindele has set a new benchmark with her latest film, Everybody Loves Jenifa, which has become the highest-grossing Nollywood movie of all time.

The film has earned an impressive ₦1.466 billion at the box office, surpassing previous record holders and marking a historic achievement in the Nigerian film industry.

According to FilmOne, the film’s distributor, Everybody Loves Jenifa reached this milestone in under two weeks, surpassing the ₦1 billion mark faster than any other Nollywood film.

FilmOne celebrated the achievement on Instagram, saying:
“Everybody Loves Jenifa has officially hit a historic ₦1.466 billion and counting at the box office, making it the highest-grossing film of all time!

“A massive THANK YOU to our incredible audiences in Nigeria and Ghana for making this dream a reality! Your support is everything.

“On to even greater heights! Still showing in cinemas near you, experience the magic on the big screen,” the film’s distributor said.

The film has outpaced other major releases, including Toyin Abraham’s Alakada: Bad and Boujee, resonating strongly with audiences in Nigeria and Ghana.

This accomplishment adds to Akindele’s impressive career, following her success with A Tribe Called Judah, which became the first Nollywood film to surpass ₦1 billion in revenue last year.

Fans and colleagues have celebrated Funke Akindele on social media, acknowledging her as a trailblazer in the Nigerian film industry.

Everybody Loves Jenifa continues to show in cinemas, delighting audiences with its cinematic magic.
