The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted Olamide Thomas bail set at N10 million for allegedly cursing Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
Justice Emeka Nwite, in his ruling on Monday, stated that there was no concrete evidence suggesting Thomas would jump bail or interfere with the trial.
The judge carefully reviewed affidavits from both the defendant and the prosecution before making his decision.
As part of the bail conditions, the surety must provide an affidavit of means, submit a three-year tax clearance certificate, and reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
Additionally, Thomas and the surety are required to deposit two recent passport photographs with the court registrar, while the surety’s address must be verified.
The case has been adjourned to February 18 for trial.
The ruling follows a December 31 hearing, where Thomas’ lawyer, T.J. Aondo, and the prosecution’s lawyer, Victor Okoye, presented their arguments.
