President Bola Tinubu will travel to Accra, Ghana, on January 6, 2025, to attend the inauguration of President-elect John Mahama on January 7.

A statement by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga on Sunday confirmed the visit, noting that Tinubu was invited by Mahama, who had visited the Nigerian leader in December.

Mahama, Ghana’s 12th president from 2011 to 2017, was reelected in December 2024 and will succeed President Nana Akufo-Addo.

As Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, Tinubu will join other African leaders at the event.

He will be accompanied by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu and other senior officials.
