The Kaduna State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has condemned an alleged assassination attempt on Senator Lawal Adamu Usman, who represents Kaduna Central Senatorial District.

In a statement, PDP Publicity Secretary, Hon. Maria Dogo, revealed that the incident occurred on January 1, 2025, while Senator Usman was inspecting constituency projects in Kaduna North Local Government Area.

“This is a deeply troubling incident. We demand a thorough investigation, immediate arrests, and prosecution of those responsible, including their sponsors,” Dogo said.

She also called for enhanced security for elected officials, emphasizing that violence has no place in democracy.

“The PDP will not stand by while the lives of our representatives are threatened. Power should be contested through the ballot, not bullets,” she added.

The party urged calm among members and residents, assuring that legal steps would be taken to ensure justice.

“Our priority remains protecting democracy and ensuring the voices of Kaduna’s people are heard,” the statement concluded.
