The Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Zacch Adelabu Adedeji, has dismissed speculations about his candidacy in the 2027 Oyo State governorship election, stating that he has no such plans.
Adedeji, who served as Oyo State Commissioner for Finance from 2011 to 2015, has been rumored as a potential successor to Governor Seyi Makinde.
However, he recently clarified his stance, emphasizing his commitment to his current role.
“I want to address the numerous calls and requests I have received. I, Zacch Adedeji, will not contest the 2027 governorship election.
“I understand some may be disappointed, but I have already had the privilege of serving Oyo State,” he stated.
Reflecting on his tenure as Commissioner of Finance, Adedeji noted, “Fourteen years ago, I fulfilled the tasks God placed before me in the state. Now, my focus is on my present responsibility, and I seek your prayers for strength to finish well. I do not want any distractions.”
