The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the Department of State Services (DSS), are set to allocate a combined N2 billion for fueling operational vehicles in 2025, according to the proposed appropriation bill presented by President Bola Tinubu to the National Assembly on December 18.
The N47.90 trillion budget, themed “Budget of Restoration: Securing Peace and Rebuilding Prosperity,” prioritizes national security, with N4.91 trillion earmarked for defense and security.
A breakdown of the budget shows that the EFCC has allocated N808.7 million for fueling its vehicles and an additional N462 million for refreshments and meals.
Similarly, the DSS plans to spend N1.37 billion on vehicle fueling, N1.4 million on tactical counter-terrorism equipment, N1.4 billion on arms and ammunition, and N1.1 billion on cybersecurity tools.
The DSS, alongside other agencies under the Office of the National Security Adviser, is also part of a broader initiative to allocate N960 billion in 2025 for maintaining national defense aircraft and procuring critical security equipment.
This financial plan underscores the administration’s commitment to strengthening national security amid ongoing challenges.
