Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth, has announced plans to fully transition into music and filmmaking in 2025.
In a recent interview with Pulse, he revealed that comedy was never his initial career goal, as he originally pursued music before stumbling into comedy.
“I’m taking music more seriously in 2025. I want to create EPs and collaborate with certain artists.
“Movies, however, remain my top priority. I’ve always preferred filmmaking over comedy, but I just haven’t made a movie yet,” he said.
Basketmouth recalled starting as a rapper before switching to comedy when music didn’t go as planned. “Rap was my thing, but it wasn’t working out. Then I tried comedy by chance, and when it clicked, I knew it was the right path.”
Despite early struggles, he credited his resilience for his success in comedy. “The beginning was tough, but once I figured it out, my career took off.”
With this new focus, fans can expect fresh music and film projects as Basketmouth embarks on his next creative chapter in 2025.
