The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), has initiated an inquest into the events surrounding the Matchday 18 fixture between Nasarawa United and Rivers United at Lafia City Stadium last Sunday.
Reports indicate that senior officials of Rivers United were allegedly attacked during the match.
The inquest aims to ascertain the facts, identify causes, and determine appropriate actions.
Both clubs have been instructed to submit detailed reports, including actions taken by club officials, security arrangements, and any other pertinent information, by January 5, 2025.
Representatives from both clubs and match officials are required to attend the inquest in person.
The game, which ended in a 1-1 draw, was highly contested.
