Stanley Eguma has been appointed Enyimba’s new head coach, expressing enthusiasm about returning to the club, which he described as a “familiar terrain.” His appointment follows the dismissal of former coach Yemi Olanrewaju on Saturday.
The 62-year-old, who was an assistant at Enyimba during their 2004 CAF Champions League victory, brings a wealth of experience.
He later enjoyed success with Dolphins (now Rivers United), where he secured multiple titles.
Reflecting on his return, Eguma said, “I’ve been here before, in 2004, when we won the CAF Champions League title. So, I’m returning to a familiar terrain.”
Eguma’s first match in charge will be against Bendel Insurance in Aba next Tuesday.
The team has struggled recently, failing to win in their last nine games across all competitions.
