Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has dismissed allegations by Niger Republic’s military leader, Abdourahamane Tchiani, as unfounded propaganda aimed at inciting hostility.
Tchiani, in a recent interview, accused Nigeria of colluding with France to destabilize Niger, claiming France negotiated with terrorists in Nigeria and paid President Tinubu to establish a military base.
In a video statement shared on his X (formerly Twitter), page, Bwala described the claims as a distraction tactic by Tchiani to deflect attention from Niger’s economic challenges.
He criticized the language used as insulting and alleged it was part of a coordinated effort involving local politicians to stir unrest in Northern Nigeria.
Bwala reaffirmed Nigeria’s leadership role in West Africa, emphasizing its commitment to regional stability and strong bilateral relations with its neighbors.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, also rejected Tchiani’s allegations, labeling them baseless and undeserving of a response.
The statements come as tensions in the region remain high, with Nigeria advocating for democratic governance and stability in West Africa.
