Social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has alleged the theft of N180 million from his NGO’s account after a hacking incident.
Otse, who launched the Martins Vincent Osei Initiative in October, quickly raised over N35 million in donations, including a N100 million contribution from renowned music producer Don Jazzy.
In a video shared on Instagram on Friday, Otse revealed that the funds were diverted into an unknown account.
“Somebody hacked into the NGO website, and N180 million is missing.
“Thankfully, one suspect has been arrested, and the account is now on Post No Debit (PND),” he said.
Otse disclosed that only N20 million remains in the account, while efforts are underway to recover the N160 million diverted.
He and his team are heading to Jos to address the issue.
He added that the NGO’s app has been temporarily shut down for maintenance to prevent further breaches, promising regular updates to donors.
